Differences in Men's Clothing Sizes Across Different Countries

Feb 15, 2026

Global men's clothing sizes are primarily categorized into three main systems; please pay close attention to the conversion guidelines:

Chinese Sizing: Based on height and chest circumference. For example, "175/92A" indicates a standard body type with a height of 175 cm and a chest circumference of 92 cm (where "A" denotes a normal build, "B" a slightly fuller build, and "C" a heavier build).

U.S. Sizing: Numerical sizes are most common. For instance, "34" represents a waist circumference of 34 inches (approximately 86 cm), while jacket sizes-such as "38R"-indicate a chest circumference of 38 inches with a "Regular" length (R = Regular).

European Sizing: Typically expressed directly using numbers; for example, "50" corresponds to a chest circumference of 100 cm (calculated as 50 × 2 = 100 cm). Trousers are sized based on the waist circumference measured in centimeters.
